Solar Power Computers?2009.09.29. // Computer, Technology

Desktop computers are known as a big power hog.  About an average of 150 watts of power are consumed by desktop computers.  But this figure changes depending on the installed hardware on a computer.  But the power usage will go up if is kept running all the time.

It’s true that solar power computers can not match the flashy counterpart.  But two years ago, Lenovo has proved that solar computers can also look sexy.  That year he introduced and launched the Blue Sky A31e PC.  It is a light weight personal computer model that weighs only 8 lbs.  It can run on only 45 watts and on solar panels.

It is as sexy as the flashy power-hogs with its AMD Sempron processor, 4 GB RAM, and an ultra small hard drive that is up to 750 GB space.  But if your computer is still working properly, you do not have to replace it with a solar power computer.

It is now possible to run your appliances or gadgets on solar energy even those that are power-hungry.  You just need to buy some two to three solar panels and you can start using them to power up your home.
